After Rolf has completed the shooting to the ZDF television movie Rooibos mit Milch in South Africa, he has written down some impressions of South Africa and the film work for his fans.
It was the second time for me in South Africa. We shoot the White Lioness there in the middle of the 90ths. And the most diffrent thing was that this time we were filming most of the time
outside of Cape Town. We were filming 200 km west of Cape Town in Citrusdal and a small town called Clanwilliam. This area is what I understand the only place where the red Roobios tea is
growing. Clanwillian is also one of the hotest places so some of the days were hard to film in 40 -42 degress. But the filming was
a great time with beautiful locations and meeting great and new wonderful collegues.
We were Southafricans. Germans and also one actor from the original Bushpeople and a Swede. So you heard a lot of Languages on the set.

When I was in South Africa the first time I was thinking that it was a country with two faces: Very beautiful, western in one way, rich but on the other hand very poor and people living in these big townships and streetchildren.and it was sad to see
as soon I sat in the car on my way from the airport to Cape Town that to little has changed in this period of 10 years since I was there last time. The big townships were still there, the rich are very rich and mostly white and the poor people is the blacks.
Still there is a beautiful country and I would like to go there again and go to areas up to Indian ocean and of course it feels a little strange to have been there two times and never had time to go on safari!
This was a german production with a Southafrican crew but with germans in important functions like camerman, lightdesigner, make up and of course the director Rainer Kaufmann. Who I really enjoyed working with. As a director he really work in a way that I like. You can feel as an actor that he knows what he is after and still he is searching for the way to do it and using the location and the actors suggestions and imaginations to create a good scene. You can also feel his close collabriation to cameraman Klaus Eichhammer and you understand that they done a lot of movies together.
All of my scenes was together with Hannelore Hoger who played the leading role in the film, a great actress to work with full of humor and very experienced. We had a great time on set and also between the shoots. She was acting in german and I in english. I don't understand german. So both of us had to use the ears and really listening to each other!
Last I will say that it makes me very glad to hear that the website has a lot of visitors and I was also proud In South Africa when the producer said one day: Did you know that there is fansite in Germany for you!? Yes I said and sometimes the website know more than me what I am doing! Many thanks to you all !

Jaja, journalists can irritate

Rolf Lassgård will join in also in a film after a film script of Jens Jonsson which has made the TV series "God morgon alla barn" . This time won't direct Jens Jonsson management but the film will become Jörgen Bergmarks management debut after a film script of Jens Jonsson.
- This is a quartet among others with Pernilla August. De rationella it is named, says Rolf Lassgård. This is a loving drama around us in the middle older, with much humor. This is very special.
The film is about two couples. One couple operates a marriage guidance counselling under the direction of the Pentecost church. The man falls in love with the wife of his best friend and pulls together the couples and solves the situation so efficiently.
For the other leading roles Stina Ekblad and Claes Ljungmark are scheduled.

Hello, there is Rolf Lassgård
who has joined in in the Oscar nominated film "Efter bröllopet" which however unfortunately
didn't get any Oscar.
How you take you?
-I am quite glum it anyway, however it was more pleasant when they called and asked me, how it is to be nominated. I am happier that the film was nominated as this I am disappointed, that he hasn't won . I am not depressed, that we haven't got the prize . I live positively.
Why you think hasn't the film won?
-I don't have any idea actually. 5 was nominated of 60 films in a foreign language and it were 5 unbelievably good and strong films. Only one could win the prize. I haven't seen the film which has won but I have heard, it shall be unbelievably good.
You haven't been at the Oscar awarding. Were you sure that you wouldn't win?
-No, this wasn't it why I wasn't there.
I am shooting just now. We had a great chance to win, 20 per cent.
What are you doing just now?
I am shooting just now a film after the last Wallander-Book.
Do we see you at the Oscar awarding in the next year?
- I don't know this. It isn't so simple. This was now the second time and it is quite clearly a fantastic honor. I think this is something which all actors would like.
